Rule Change
Rules changes include that every tournament will have official weigh ins. This means no more Thursday night weigh ins at your club, and no more random weight checks. Also, there is no more busted for the year rule. It will be tournament director's discretion as to when to have the weigh ins (i.e., Sat. morning with optional Friday night; remote weigh ins, etc.). Also up to tournament director to allow a wrestler who doesn't make weight to move up (my opinion on this is that "re-bracketing" normally involves simply inserting a name in a blank space on the bracket, so we should make best efforts to allow a wrestler to move up and wrestle). Nothing is changed about the rule that you have to have 3 qualifiers at the lowest weight you want to wrestle for regionals/state, and the growth allowance is only available to those wrestlers who wrestle a match at that lowest weight prior to January 1.
